Vacarm: After Et Alors! and et La Reine des Abeilles "The Queen of Bees", A la Recherche de l’Amour Perdu boucle "The Search for Love Lost" the trilogy begun in 2003, elk and more melancholy dream, worthy of a double-edged story. How would you define the history of these three opus, and especially the latter?

Melissa Mars: This is the story of a girl who grew up with a bandage on the heart rather than a disease ... hell it's a melody fairy: "Papa M'aime Pas' " and a debut album And Then ! ...

A girl at heart to the drift that takes off in search of a metamorphosis, transform its ailing honey in La Reine des Abeilles "The Queen of the Bees" second album ...

It is the story of a girl who climbs her love machine and hand intergalactic journey leads him to Atlantis la Recherche de l’Amour Perdu "The Search for the Lost Love"... Third opus that closes the series of 3 albums constructed as stories related to each other in the quest initiation of a young girl in search of love ...

Regular feature in all your albums: the theme of loss and apprehension, in every imaginable seams. Exorcising demons you buried in you live with this girl lost and lonely in your records? This girl she revels in her melancholy?

I did not want to be a singer, I wanted to be an actor since a child and I have started actress at the age of 13 years. A few years later, I meet a composer who had a sort of flash ... without really knowing, I embarked on a musical exploration ...

Then three words are toc toc toc in my head: "Papa [Loves Me] Not". It sounded like the title of a song. It also sounded like the little voice of a demon who wanted buried out ... That day I understood the role that music could play in my life and the role I could play music. The catharsis. I indulge in melancholy, not but draw my inspiration, yes.

La Recherche de l’Amour Perdu "The Search for Love Lost" mixing a little every style of music you characterize as far as electro pop rock and even folk. As usual, your mom co-sign with you the majority of tracks, how do you? Give you ideas for texts or do you work directly together?

On my first album, my first flash was "Papa M'aime Pas'". Mom "Lilas Klif", was amused with my words to me evils together a rhyme acid and diabolical. The second album, she pushed me to go further, to lay down my ideas on paper. And on this third album, we wrote and worked together.

What are you writing for part of the disc, much more dreamlike and conceptual than the other two? The songs seem to capture some visual and film ...

For all my albums, the inspiration is very cinematic. It's my passion since a child. I am nourished by films and heroines who made me dream and given the desire to be an actress. For songs, I still need to post pictures. For example, for "Army of Love" I was in London I had a vision, the image of me turning into a mini-army of fairy tale ... an army of love ... a scenario in my head become a text, then a clip, a small animation film.

All my songs are like mini movies, there's always a story, an atmosphere between the real and the imaginary, and a heroin ... me.

What do you remember of the album, as well as live performances that followed?

This particular album was. It arose during my travels that I carried out from Iceland to New York until the London fog ... my laptop was always on, to pick up ideas. I came back with lots of sounds and images. And for the first time I made my own designs at home, recorded instruments and voices, which was kept on the final versions. I was in all positions: the sound, the music, image, graphics, video ...

I keep a reminder of our sessions in the studio with Jack Lahane Gang, Rob in Phoenix and mom "Lilas". We worked in workshops, experienced a lot of instruments that we discover was Rob, a mixture of synthetic and acoustic: the trident, the triton, and MS20, mixed with a real piano, Wurl, rhodes, guitars (played by Bogue & me too), tablas ... And other less common instruments, the marimba, the kalimba, a small componium ...

As for the Live at La Cigale, a concert very ambitious, carefully prepared and constructed with Fred Helbert the musical director, sound, electro, rock, metal, samples inspired moods Chinese, Indian, old films in the NB ... choreographed moments, figures kung-fu, a grand show of lights, sets and costumes (designed by Lilas Klif and carried out by Leka). And even a sculptor of Marseille, Denis Nayrac, I designed my Love Machine I climbed the pieces one at a very long concert. I made a scene in both film and theater. "A musical to Tim Burton, to me alone! "Some have said ...

Do you propose this last concert in La Cigale (December 2007) on DVD?

I have a bunch of new images. Live at La Cigale. And others. But the sound recording was not expected to make a DVD. But when you make a real capture, could offer as a bonus.

Your concerts are played with energy much rock, flirting with multiple sounds pretty gross. Accounts you decline this on your next album?

You had already proposed an EP of remixes in legal downloading, including a version of "Apocalips" very industrial, close to Nine Inch Nails...

I do not know yet what will be the sound of my next album, but I like mixing genres.

From "Papa M’aime Pas'", you have always shown your clips by single treatment. That your new kid, "Army of Love" (which you have done with Thomas Guerigen) is online since a few weeks and for the first time in your career, this is an animated film. Can you tell us the concept? Should we see a parallel with the video "And Then!" which also directed an army of individuals to the same face?

It's funny, I did not make this parallel. In the video "And Then", I wanted to tell my vision, much darker, of a humanity that wants us to fit in a single mold, with a unified thought, expression frozen in a mask inexpressive. "Army of Love" is a fairy tale. Inspired by the dawn of time, it tells the story of lovers and Ox Xo, frozen in another dimension of space-time, whose history stopped at 1:13. The heroine of the clip board in his love machine found their mark, and disintegrates into thousands of small fairies soldiers of the army of love to bring to life those who love iced and resurrect their story ...

You also composed the title (and "1:13") with the Pressure Zone. How did you discovered and how did this collaboration?

During my stay in NY, I heard by chance a CD of instrumental music electro Pressure Zone. I went to see them in their London studio bunker. And then I had an experience both terrifying, exciting and all new to me: they stuck me in a cabin in the instrumental loop in the helmet, as in a matrix ... and asked me 'improvise a melody. Like that. Tac. And in two days, I replied "1:13" and "Army of Love." This is the bunker that inspired me I think.

Just like "Love Machine" and the duet "Et Si Nous Deux," "Army of Love" out there in single, with remixes that come with it?

"Army of Love" is not a single, I did a film clip of animation, in an independent house of my disk. I co-directed with Thomas Guerigen that I discovered on Myspace. This is a clip done with the means and the passion of a team. The nice surprise: without any promotion, the English version of the clip has been put forward on all international DailyMotion sites, more than 20,000 people have seen in only 3 days.

During a television broadcast, you have totally revisited "Boys Do not Cry" the Cure, the mixing structure of the title affects your music while incorporating some agreements "Papa M’aime Pas'". How to you get the idea of the recovery in disguise, and that evoke the cult of culture dark?

To make a recovery is a rather difficult challenge, especially when one touches with monuments, but I like the audacity to
satisfy that you were sensitive there because much purists or Curistes hated my recovery… Doing a recovery is a difficult challenge, especially when it relates to monuments, but I love the audacity of daring, the pleasure of 'and try to reinvent ...

In my third album, I created the character of Metal Boy, cruel, insensitive, it do not cry, because Boys Do not Cry ... The idea and the desire for rehabilitation marSienne the Cure song came . It was written with Lilas lyrics in french.

When the TNT show me propose to make a recovery, I ask Fred Helbert rehabilitation sound emergency. It becomes dark, slower ... a little time, a mini training required, 2 musicians, I close my eyes to forget and I added my version.

For me, the Cure, a cure is sensually bliss. I am more committed to their music dark and flat, I like listening to at night.

Your fans will have the chance to rediscover this great title from a physical or legal downloading in the near future?

I wanted to put it in my third album, but the whole process of necessary permissions being too long ...

Outside of The Cure, which artists t'accompagnent on your stereo?

NIN, big fan. Their music inspires strong emotions. Very sexual and sensual, Trent Reznor is as charismatic on stage as his music are to the ear. I also like the band Muse, flights of lyrical voice, piano and strings, guitars ... I carry very high! "Butterfly and Hurricanes" my anthem for me regenerate. Damien Rice Irish blows my blues. And to smile at this moment I listen to Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Britney Spears.

In addition to your musical world and text, you markdowns easily with coverage Lolitrash romantic. Is it a character that you do live to your songs, at its peak in the title "Red Riding Hood" Irmavep interpreted?

That is what I am in life, in moments of my life. I sometimes look lolita charming and playful, sometimes cruel trash, and other times dreamy romance of another time ...

Compared to your universe quite atypical, your musical collaborations are quite surprising as being primarily with singers varieties. Hast thou not afraid that this contradiction scare your audience or the general public used to stick labels?

I hate boxes! I prefer the cubes! You can change the face and color!

When an artist comes to me and suggested a collaboration, it is primarily a meeting "human," I want to see what we have and can do together. They loved and wanted to touch Mars, I had a sudden heart of the moment ... the public "used" can not be scared, he likes it or dislikes. Mars attack anywhere they wish, and especially where we did not attend, either in Homéricains, or a Rubik's cube. Ha ha!

Later news, you live the role of Aloysia Weber in the rock opera Mozart whose first performances will be at the beginning of next. Not too stressful for such a challenge? What can you already tell us about your service, both on stage than on CD?

The album has just come out, ranked in the top five. I interpret "Bim Bam Boom," a song very marSienne and Aloysienne sounding féerik n 'rock, and even "Tim Burton-ienne" that the filmmakers have created.

Chance or fate, I heard the early models before even knowing the project. Long after, I accepted with excitement and anxiety of playing the game of the hearings (hearings before a jury of my musical life) for the role of wonder Aloysia, a singer! Aloysia was Mozart's muse, his first love eternal ... say ... Cruel apparently under his iron mask lies a wounded soul.

This is what I sing in "Bim Bam Boom." A woman in doubt, strong and fragile, dark and light in both a performance at large scale, directed by Olivier Dahan. A big challenge, yes! Play every night at the Palais des Sports, on this vast stage, amid a troupe of singers, actors, dancers, musicians in period costumes, enormous sets in .... a dream too ...

You will also continue your career as an actress playing soon in the film From Paris with Love by Pierre Morel and produced by Luc Besson, projected on our screens at the end of the year. How was filming? The cinema will it always the same for you since your debut in the song?

I attended the film and I was very impressed to play alongside John Travolta. I was touched very closely in an elevator scene. The impression of something unreal. Also affected by his kindness and the discussions we had.

Not the passion of cinema not left me! And I learned to love singing in creating my albums. Mozart Rock Opera allows me to live and serve my two passions without any sacrifice!

Do you think the next album already? After the trilogy is complete, what accounts you change?

I admit that after my third album, I thought all stop and go very far to lose myself in the middle of nowhere. I lost the desire of all ... Then there was the album of Mozart Opera Rock, began to play the songs on stage, to promote the show, and the desire to make music I returned gradually.

I have ideas in gestation, the time to ripen ... ... to be ready to regain the lost love ... the initiatory quest never ends ...
